International Forum on Forestry and Innovation Cooperation
21 tháng 6, 2025The event gathered nearly 100 participants, including leaders from the Departments of Science and Technology, Forestry, and Education and Training of Guangxi Province, as well as representatives and scientists from forestry universities across China and South Asian countries.

In his opening speech, Vice President Bui The Doi emphasized that the forestry sector plays not only an important economic role but also a vital environmental function in maintaining ecological balance. Therefore, international cooperation in education, scientific research, and innovation in forestry is crucial, especially in the context of globalization and Vietnam's newly issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, by the Political Bureau, which emphasizes breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Sam – Director of the International Cooperation Division – delivered a keynote speech on international cooperation in plant biodiversity conservation research.
During the forum, participants shared significant research findings in forestry, forest resource management, and biodiversity conservation. Several proposals and orientations were also made to enhance cooperation in education, research, and innovation among participating institutions in the near future.

During their stay in China, the delegation held working sessions with the leadership of Yunnan Forestry Technical College, the Faculty of Forestry, and the Institute of Wood Science and Materials at SWFU to discuss strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual strength.
In recent years, Southwest Forestry University has hosted more than 40 faculty members and students from VNUF for study, research, and exchange in fields such as forestry, landscape architecture, forest resource management, wood science, and interior design.
The delegation's visit was a great success, opening up new opportunities for collaboration with partners in China and the region.
