The scientific workshop “Plant diversity and conservation in Vietnam”
24 tháng 4, 2019Attending participants were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phung Van Khoa - Dean of the Faculty of Forest Resources and Environmental Management chair of the seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Xuan Truong - Dean of the Faculty of Forestry; Dr. Vuong Duy Hung - Director of Center for Biodiversity and Sustainable Forest Management; Dr. Harald Kirsch, Expert in Cooperated Development – GIZ, Germany; Mr. Zuklin Tomas - Expert in promoting international cooperation, Czech Republic; Mrs. Lynn Smith - Expert in Journalism, South Africa; Attending the seminar has also lecturers of Forestry, Forest Resources and Environmental Management Faculty, Forestry Biotechnology Institute, Advanced Program Students and International Forestry Master students.
At the seminar, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Van Sam shared information that is the latest update about Plant Diversity in Vietnam such as new genus and species that have been discovered in Vietnam for over 20 years, and some others features as opportunities and challenges in plant conservation in Vietnam; legal documents related to biodiversity conservation; to be scientific basis for proposing species should be listed in Redbook; the experience in conservation and development of rare and precious plant species in Vietnam; At the end of seminar, participants exchanged many issues on plant diversity, conservation and development of Plant in Vietnam.
