The meaningful project for Communities "Cây miền ngược - Nước miền Xuôi"

“Cây miền ngược – Nước miền xuôi”is a very meaningful community project developed by a group of students from the Green For Future Club (GFF) of VNUF. The project brings positive contributions to the needs of domestic water, clean water sanitation, ecological balance, environment and society.

The project is implemented in 05 years in cooperation with Hang Kia - Pa Co Nature Reserve to deploy phase 1 (June 1 - August 2, 2020) to plant 02 hectares of forest in the watershed area of Thung Mai village. communes of Hang Kia, Mai Chau, Hoa Binh.

With the support of the Youth Initiative for the Sustainable Development Goals Fund 2020, it aims to increase the voice of youth to the community, raising awareness of the community on sustainable development. The Fund is coordinated with the financial support from the Irish Aid in Vietnam (Irish Aid) and the care and assistance from the local authorities. Operating since the beginning of June 2020, the project has added 40 volunteers, all of whom are students in the Hanoi area of Vietnam National University of Forestry, Foreign Trade University, National Economy, Hanoi National University, Hanoi National Education University, ... joined with the intention to bring help to the people in upland with difficult circumstances. On July 12, 2020, GFF had a meeting with volunteers with the club advisor - Prof.Dr. Hoang Van Sam - Senior Lecturer of Forestry University, is one of the professors with deep expertise in Forestry. At the meeting, Prof.Dr. Hoang Van Sam shared experiences and notes in afforestation activities; and visit the experimental forest at VNUF

From July 31 to August 2, 2020, GFF Club has carried out afforestation activities in Thung Mai village, although the weather conditions, travel and accommodation are very difficult, but 40 volunteers are always enthusiastic gether with the people, try to complete the goal.

During the activities at the site of Thung Mai village, Hang Kia commune, Mai Chau, Hoa Binh, the GFF club and volunteers organized gifts and donated learning books for children and students at kindergartens local primary school and children. On August 1, 2020, the delegation had a cultural exchange with Hang Kia - Pa Co Nature Reserve and local people in Thung Mai village, ending phase 1 of the project .

The project will continue to implement the next phase in the coming years to continue developing community forests for upland people, maintaining and ensuring quality water sources for people in the delta.
